Hello, my name is Lexi Milligan. I am an education student at the University of Regina with a major in English and a minor in theatre. I went to St. Bernadette elementary school and that is where I first decided to become a teacher. A particularly kind and caring teacher in grade six showed so much love for her work that it opened my eyes to what a fulfilling career it could be. Then I moved on to Michael A. Riffel High School, where I first discovered my love of both English and theatre. I did not realize my love for English until grade twelve when I decided to take AP English; the teacher of this class was so dedicated to her work and the books we studied that she inspired the entire class. It was also in high school when I began taking classes at Globe Theatre, which I have continued to do until this past summer. I even began assistant teaching some classes in 2012 and 2013, which has given me the wonderful opportunity to work with amazing actors, teaching kids and having fun. I want to teach because I want to help students explore their interests and prepare for the future. I hope to learn how to best keep students interested in what they are learning as well as classroom management as I feel it is needed to run a classroom of happy and well-adjusted students. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you to observe your teaching strategies, develop lesson plans, and deliver classroom material under your observation, and I am interested in your suggestions and feedback. I hope that I can be of assistance to you in the classroom as well, and I want to thank you for taking the time to help me further explore my future career as an educator. I cannot wait to begin teaching and learning in your classroom.
